Holiday Club will end with a family service and barbeque on the Sunday. More details will be released through St Bartholomew's School during this term, but if you would like more details or a registration form, please email quornchurchesholidayclub@gmail.com or like 'Quorn Churches Holiday Club' on Facebook. 19th August 2017 [Saturday]
Quorn Neighbourhood Plan - ‘Open event’
10am to 1pm - Quorn Village Hall

It hardly seems possible that this time last year the Quorn Neighbourhood Plan was only in its infancy yet now with the support of the Parish Council and the involvement of a volunteer group of community representatives the process is well underway. Consultants have been appointed and a Quorn Neighbourhood Plan Advisory Committee has been formed to take the process forward.
An important date for your diary is Saturday 19th August 2017, 10.00am-1.00pm. This will be the first village ‘Open event’ and will take place in the Village Hall. It is an opportunity for the Quorn community to find out about Neighbourhood Planning and what it can and can’t do. It is our chance to tell the local community what has been achieved to date and what still needs to take place but importantly, it is your chance to have a say. Who knows you may even be willing to contribute and have something to offer to the process moving forward.
People will be there to answer any questions and there will be display boards with relevant and local information on, guidance notes about neighbourhood planning, examples of other Neighbourhood Plans, the chance for you to make your comments and theme group interest forms (for people to confirm interest if they wish to become involved). People will also be encouraged to identify suitable sites for environmental protection and any housing development.
So, this is your chance to come and see what’s happening and to have your say. The Quorn Neighbourhood Plan is facilitated by the Parish Council but is a Community project.
Oh! And refreshments (free) will be available - so ‘you all come now you hear’

20th September 2017 [Wednesday]
QUORN BACON ROLL DAY
11am - 1pm - Odd John;s Kitchen, 10-12 High St., Quorn

10 years of rolling out the bacon….
….are you up for the challenge!…

Once again the Quorn air will be full of the delicious aromas of bacon, onions, herbs, suet pastry ( and perhaps some little secret ingredient) as contestants descend on Odd John’s Kitchen on High Street clutching their lovingly prepared Quorn Bacon Rolls.

Faced with the task this year of deciding on the best Quorn Bacon Roll will be the Mayor of Charnwood (Cllr. Pauline Ranson), Maurice Flynn (BBC East Midlands Today presenter) and keeping a professional eye on things as chair of judges will be chef Darren Ellison of Odd John’s Kitchen.

This year’s challenge is the 10th Annual Quorn Bacon Roll Day, so we do need a good list of entries to make up a worthwhile competition and entries from other villages are most welcome. The prize is a £25 voucher for Odd John’s Kitchen and every contestant receives a £5 Bradley’s voucher.

If you require any further information / recipe / entry form etc, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Terry Stirling, (01509-414287, e.mail terrystirling@ntlworld.com)

*Bacon Roll Day is supported by Quorn Parish Council and Odd John’s Kitchen and is an Old School Trust Community Heritage event*
