7pm - Wrights Mill - Access via reception from the car park Leicester Road

George Wright provides a historic overview of Wright’s Mill, the company that has been in Quorn since the 1870’s. A unique opportunity to hear first hand from George, who is descended directly from Michael Wright, who brought the factory to Quorn - Promises to be a very interesting evening!

The 17th Century style of Andrea Palladio’s revolutionary genius of classical architecture, whose work transformed the architectural culture of the Western World. The talk will focus on the work of Andrea Palladio and its popularity in Britain during the mid 17thand early 18th Centuries.”

Discover the benefits of gentle exercise through dancing simple steps to music from around the world. We dance traditional village dances and more recent choreographies in a circle or spiral. Each dance is taught from scratch with plenty of repetition in a supportive environment. Everyone is equal in the circle. Wear loose comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Cost per session £5. Beginners welcome!

Wednesday Film Show - Film stars Don't Die In Liverpool
Doors open at 1.45pm - Quorn Village Hall

The film on Wednesday May 16th is 'Film stars Don't Die In Liverpool'.This is a 2017 biography/drama/romance and stars Jamie Bell, Annette Bening, Julie Walters and Vanessa Redgrave. Based on Peter Turner's memoir, the film follows the playful but passionate relationship between the young man Turner and the eccentric, Academy Award winning actress Gloria Grahame in 1978 Liverpool. What starts out as a vibrant affair between a legendary femme fatale and her young lover quickly grows into a deeper relationship with Turner being the person Gloria turns to for comfort.
As usual films are screened in The Village Hall at 2pm. Pay £4 at the door to include tea, biscuits and a free raffle ticket.a

The NQSC 1940's Evening
7.30pm - Quorn Village Hall

An evening of entertainment, comedy, song and dance. The NQSC will be performing their 'ENSA' show, prior to their appearances at the Great Central Railway War Weekend on 2nd and 3rd June. Come and join the company on 26th May as the players recreate what it must have been like to be a performer with the Entertainment National Service Association! There will also be a chance to dance to music of the era. Rations (actually a very tasty supper) are included in the ticket price of £10 and you can bring your own drinks. Spring is almost upon us!! ... and we've set the date for this year's Open Gardens. We are hoping there will be 15-20 gardens open to the public - most will be open on both days, but some for one or the other. As previous years, many garden owners will be selling plants and some will provide refreshments and cakes.

Visit and tour of Beaumanor Hall. Meet at Beaumanor Hall for 6:30 start.
The visit of this historic site will be led by a guide and will last for 2.5 hours and include a refreshment break.
The party size is strictly limited to 20 persons and therefore will be limited to members only on a first come first served basis. Charge for Members = £8 to be paid no later than 10th July
