Welcome to Quorn May Day 2002!
Another excellent event in Quorn's calendar. As in previous years, very large crowds came
and enjoyed a day out in the centre of the village.
The May Day parade set off at 1.30pm, travelling down from Church Lane, past Rawlins and
into Quorn Cross where most people had gathered.
The May Day was then officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Charnwood, Councillor
Tony Stott and Councillor Eva Stott.
Activities then started, stalls opened and the event was under way. Activities included
maypole dancing, stalls, tea at the Cross, music by Rawjazz, entertainment by Bill
Brookman, and the annual duck race.
For the fourth year in succession, the weather turned out pretty well although black
clouds flew across the sky between spells of hot sunshine.
Have a look through our photos, and if you want to leave a comment, fill in our guestbook.
