THE 1ST QUORN
OCTOBERFEST BEER FESTIVAL, held from the 19th to the 21st October 2000 was an outstanding
success and exceeded all expectations. The first night attendance being surpassed by the
attendance on Friday which in turn was exceeded by the capacity crowd on Saturday.
Every aspect of the arrangements worked a treat and the four excellent performing bands were appreciated by all - RAW JAZZ (our local student jazz band by kind permission of Rawlins Community College), Karls Bavarian Brass Band, YK2 Jazz Band and last but not least Sounds Like Jazz led by Maggie who had helped with all the musical arrangements.
The superb selection of nearly 40 beers was provided by CAMRA with enthusiasts coming from as far afield as Nottingham, Newark, Leicester and even Liverpool. This wonderful success would not have been achieved without the hard work and support of our local CAMRA volunteers, members of the Parish Council and Merle and Debbie with the clean up operations.
Any doubt about our having the 2nd festival next year was quickly dispelled on the first night and we now look forward to building on this remarkable success for next year's event ..so put it in your diary for the same time in 2001!

Difficult to get good shots of the night, but we've got a few in our Gallery.
