Michael Jones
I retired
as a professional engineer and sometime later decided to take up painting in water
colours. Until I started painting I had never attempted any artistic activity, although I
had always had a real interest in art. I have always been an enthusiastic visitor to art
galleries and this is something I still enjoy.
I have had no formal training, although I have received a great deal of support from a number of people, particularly Betty Solomons of U3A.
I paint buildings and landscapes, particularly of the village of Quorn and the surrounding area, as well as things seen when travelling, and occasional still lives. My paintings are done mainly for pleasure, but I am delighted when people decide to buy them and to date I have carried out several commissions.
Typical prices for local visitors range from £35 - £45. You can contact me on (01509) 413284.
