In liaison with the Parish Council, a new team of volunteer footpath
wardens is taking a fresh look at the village’s footpaths and
bridleways.
Laurence Coe, Keith Collie and Richard Guise have already:
delivered a report on the state of all 24 rights
of way that fall within Quorn’s parish
boundary, from Pilling’s Lock to Buddon Wood, from the
Bull-in-the-Hollow to the banks of the Soar. Details of broken
stiles, missing signs and blocked paths have been passed to the
County Council for action.
set a date for the first of what will
be regular six-monthly parish walks: starting 7pm on August 7th
at the White Hart – bring
boots!
started research for a written, illustrated guide to the best walks
in Quorn and district, which they hope will be distributed
not only via the village’s shops but also free on this website.
What’s more, some of the worst paths for litter are due to
be tackled by a team of the village’s scouts.
