County Hall have confirmed that pedestrian
lights at the Farley Way crossing will definitely be installed this
year!
This was one of the major objectives of the St Barts School Travel
Plan and represents a huge success. Children will be much safer
on their journeys to and from school – and from our previous
surveys it should enable even more people to walk or cycle.
Please
continue to support the School Travel Plan. When the Farley Way
lights decision was announced, we were told that the Councillors
put great emphasis on the School Travel Plan and that it was the
major factor in securing the scheme’s final acceptance in their
programme of works. We’ve proved we CAN make a difference -
now let’s build on this brilliant success – keep encouraging
your children to walk or cycle to school – keep safe – keep
healthy!
Thank you to all those people who supported the campaign and
wrote to the various bodies concerned.

Plan Working Group
