Village News 2006

Plants and Gardens needed for Quorn Open Gardens
June 2006

Open Gardens 2006 will take place on June 24th and 25th.

One of Quorn's major annual events. Buy a Garden Passport from village shops for £3.00 - this gets you in to all gardens on both days. Approx 20 gardens are open over the weekend.

Plant Sale - donations required
There will be a plant sale in the Memorial Garden in the village centre. If you have any spare cuttings/plants and would be willing to donate them, the Open Gardens organisers want to hear from you.

Last year, £500 was raised from plant sales alone, with the overall event raising over £3000. All of this money is used to fund planting in the village, so we all benefit.

An observation ...
Of approximately 3000 households in Quorn, just five households donated plants last year. If people spent more time supporting their community, just imagine how much money would be raised ...

For information about Quorn Open Gardens and what it's like to open your own garden, go to our Open Gardens website or phone Quorn 412 915.
