QUARTS

The promotion name of "Quorn Arts - presenting arts in Quorn".

We're new and are four villagers who have come together to present performing, creative events in the Village Hall, Quorn. We are Terry Stirling, Joan Bloodworth, David Cawdell and Christine Cawdell.

Last year Terry and Joan started the Wednesday Matinee film programmes (remember Calendar Girls and Ladies in Lavender?) with much success and then were joined by David and Christine to produce the much acclaimed VE/VJ Exhibition when 600 people passed through the doors during the day. It was after this that it was decided to form QUARTS and arrange a programme of events for 2006 to complement the existing independent NQSC and Phoenix groups giving Quorn a minimum of at least one arts event per month throughout the year.

January, February and March will see The Wednesday Matinee series through the Centre Screen project with the films "Shall We Dance", "Land Girls" and "Mrs Henderson Presents". In April, on 9th and 23rd we take advantage of the Centre Stage project to bring two quality music concerts to the Village Hall.

For details, look at the What's On in Quorn web page and keep looking at the village notes in the Echo, and of course posters.
