New Quorndon Shakespeare Company goes from Strength to Strength January 2007
Last year was a very successful and varied year for the New Quorndon Shakespeare Company. In February they put on, to great acclaim, a brand new musical written by members of the company called “Abby Vera & Sue” followed by Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” in June. Due to the positive reception for “Abby Vera & Sue” and a taste for adventure the Company took a revised version of the musical to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which was enjoyed by both the members of the group and the public. In December “Mr Pickwick’s Christmas” was performed in the Village Hall accompanied by the traditional mince pies and mulled wine.
For 2007, the Company’s fifth anniversary, Henry V is being performed in Quorn Village Hall from 16th to 19th May and in October, at Rawlins Community College, Twelfth Night. The Company is very friendly and always welcomes new members who are interested in either in performing on stage or helping behind the scenes.
