Youth Provision on the Stafford Orchard
Following representations from young people in the village, the Council
entered into discussions with them about the provision of a basketball
practice area and a facility for skateboarding and bikes. The Council
allocated an area of the Stafford Orchard for both facilities and included
a youth shelter in the plans following receipt of a very favourable Thames
Valley Police report on the value of these specially designed structures.
The youth club took on board the design of a half-pipe ramp which was
eventually constructed by a local expert and funded by the Parish and
Borough Councils, with a donation from Quorn Baptist Church.
The facilities
have been widely welcomed by young people in the village and are much
used.
