IWe settled in Quorn back in 1985 bringing memories of many other communities.
Epping Forest was my childhood playground nurturing a love for trees and woodland fauna.
As a young engineer, I set out the kink in the Jubilee Line beneath Regents Park.
Soon after graduation I found myself designing some 1000km of four lane public race-track in Saudi.
Being left with a surplus desert trail bike at end of contract – I rode it home.
Skipping over other exotic placements, my business activities now (oilfield analysis) needs only access to the internet.
My wife is a Rawlins teacher and all three children have enjoyed a village education.
I am wholeheartedly a fan of Stafford Orchard as I see so many parallels with the Aussie 'Oval' which gets used enthusiastically and cherished by all in the community.
Before seeking a position of councillor, I was a founding member of the Quorn Gardens/Allotments - a Group seeking to restore such amenities central to the community.
We so regretted being committed abroad on May Day - given all the preparation and anticipation (my dog and I were hoping to defend our lookalike title).
It would pain me if our community pool were allowed to fall into dereliction.
I am cognisant of past village fund raising and I hope to be influential in the restoration of this facility post haste.
