Welcome to Quorn Local History Group.

During the summer of 2017 a group of enthusiastic villagers started the Quorn Local History Group, and within a few short months the membership had risen to over thirty-five. The group meets once a month, usually on the fourth Monday of the month in St. Bartholomew’s Church, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. A warm welcome is assured and you are free to come as a visitor if you wish. If you are new to the group, we suggest that you check the What’s On section of this website, or contact a committee member, as sometimes we have a change of venue.

About the Group

We are a very friendly group and meet once a month, but with a summer break in August and a purely social meet in December. For each of the other ten months we generally have a speaker. The subject may be Quorn based, or at least will have relevance to Quorn or the locality. Because the group is new, we are looking to the members to decide how they want the group to develop in other directions. We hope this will include various Quorn based historical projects, and has already included a ‘Quorn Historical Walk’ run by Sue Templeman, which is being re-run due to demand.
