Welcome to Quorn Local History Group.

During the summer of 2017 a group of enthusiastic villagers started Quorn Local History Group, and our membership now averages about fifty. The group meets once a month, usually on the fourth Monday of the month in St. Bartholomew’s Church, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. A warm welcome is assured and meetings are open to both members and visitors. If you are new to the group, we suggest that you check the Quorn What’s On section of this website, or contact a committee member, as sometimes we have a change of venue.

About the Group

We are a very friendly group and meet once a month, but usually with a one month summer break and a purely social meet in December. For each of the other ten months we generally have a speaker. The subject may be Quorn-based, or will usually have some relevance to Quorn or the locality. Our committee is very informal and we are always looking to the members to decide how they want the group to develop.

As a group, we also have several Quorn-based historical projects on the go, and encourage members to support them and to get involved, however great or small their contribution may be. These include oral history, field walking, exhibitions and more. Please just email one of us for more information.
