Quorn Local History GroupDuring the summer of 2017 a group of enthusiastic villagers started Quorn Local History Group, and our membership now averages about fifty. The group meets once a month, usually on the last Thursday of the month at the Church Rooms, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. A warm welcome is assured and meetings are open to both members and visitors. If you are new to the group, we suggest that you check the Quorn What’s On section of this website, or contact a committee member, as sometimes we have a change of venue. About the GroupWe are a very friendly group. At our meetings we generally have a speaker, and the subject may be Quorn-based, or will usually have some relevance to Quorn or the locality. Our committee is very informal and we are always looking to the members to decide how they want the group to develop. As a group, we also have several Quorn-based historical projects on the go, and encourage members to support them and to get involved, however great or small their contribution may be. These include oral history, field walking, exhibitions and more. Please just email one of us for more information. Our Meeting and Talks ProgrammeWe run an active programme of talks, meetings and activities through the year. These will be posted on our village What’s On and are also available below .
Membership and ChargesThere is an annual membership fee of £10.00 (free for under 18s), with a meeting charge of £2.00 (£1.00 for under 18s). Visitors are always welcome at our talks and events - £4.00 per event. If you wish to join, please contact our Membership Secretary or complete the membership form.
