Why do we charge for a business listing?
This site was developed by volunteers and is still run mainly
by volunteers. However, over the years (ten years in fact since launch)
the site has grown in complexity and content and now requires some
professional input to maintain it and to manage the various databases
and information that it now contains. There are also ongoing costs
in terms of hosting, domain names, support and admin.
A basic business listing is still free. However, for a nominal payment
you get a much more effective business entry and you are also supporting
a village website that is unique in the UK, containing thousands of
images, textual pages, genealogical information, parish council information,
and much more. Your contribution provides a small revenue stream that
allows the site to keep current and also allows us to look towards
new features in the future. Your business also appears in the Site
Sponsors section.
We don't receive any funding other than through business advertising
and the sale of village email addresses,
so your help can make a difference!

Keywords - these should be selected so that people will
be able to locate you, eg electricians, electrical services, house
