Running Stafford Orchard
Stafford Orchard is owned by the Parish Council, but it is run by the community, many of whom are volunteers. These are vital to the successful operation and development of the park and the the park cannot function without them - see our Volunteers section.
Park Management Committee
The main decision making body is the Park Management Committee, who are not only responsible for ensuring that maintenance schedules are in place and that the park is providing what people want, but also take the lead in representing community views and developing the park further. They are keen to encourage people to hold community events on the park, such as concerts, celebrations etc.
The committee is made up of volunteers from within the village and some Parish Councillors. It is chaired by Sue Templeman who is an ex Parish Councillor and who was a member of the original project team who initiated and managed the park refurbishment from 2005 to 2011. If you feel you could consider becoming a member of the management committee, please contact us for more details. Meetings are informal and are held once a month and the most important qualities for a member are enthusiasm and an ability to get things done.
